The Knot's Best of Weddings 2008

Whoo-hoo!  I have the wonderful pleasure of sharing with you that Sugar Sweet Events was again selected for The Knot's Best of Weddings award.  We are one of only three wedding planners chosen and we are the only wedding planning firm to be selected in 2007 and 2008, so I am just over the moon with this honor!  Best of Weddings vendors are chosen from the ratings given by brides in a post-wedding survey sent by The Knot, so this honor coming from our brides makes this all the more special and amazing.  We are only as good as our brides, so thanks SO much to each of you for this incredible award. You all are the best!

Wow, time flies when you are having fun!

I cannot believe that it has been the end of January since my last post!  I have SO much exciting information to share with everyone and so many amazing weddings to post!  Sit tight; I will be doing some serious updating throughout the week.

Sugar Sweet Events is proud to be featured in the Fall 2007 Daily Candy Wedding Guide!  I have been a fan of Daily Candy since I heard about it on the Isaac Mizrahi Show, and I am so jazzed that we were chosen.  Daily Candy is a great way to find out about new products, fun restaurants, and all kinds of hidden treasures, whether you chose the Candy specifically for your city or the Daily Candy Everywhere guide. The article focuses on our "day of" service, however we are pleased to offer every level of service, from "day of" to full service planning.  I would like to thank the editors at Daily Candy for including us in the guide;  it was a great way to start the morning!

Real Wedding: Lauren & Jared

Lauren and Jared were married this summer at the King Plow Event Gallery in West Midtown.  I personally love having weddings at this venue, for its hip, funky vibe and the incredible space that the events are held in.   Lauren had a fantastic team of professionals and it was great to work with some of our favorite vendors such as Tulip Blooming Creations and Bold American Catering.  Everything about the wedding was just gorgeous, and I was really inspired by the little details that were included, such as Lauren carrying roses from her father's garden in her bouquet and Jared giving all of his groomsmen Converse sneakers to change into for the reception.  It really was a fresh and fun wedding, and I'm so happy to have been involved.  Thank you, Lauren and Jared!

It's been entirely too long!

I've been getting emails lately from some of the readers of my blog and I realized that it has been over a month since I last updated!  I apologize to everyone, and promise to stay on top of the blog.  We have been overwhelmed lately with events, and I don't know that I will get a break in before February! :)  Lots of things have been happening for Sugar Sweet Events, and I can't wait to share everything.  Stay tuned!

We are one of Paper Dolls Design's vendor spotlights!

I just want to take a moment to thank Angela Moland-Barnes and Gia Graham of Paper Dolls Design for making Sugar Sweet Events one of their "Vendor Spotlights" on their website.  I really enjoyed doing the interview, and am just tickled pink about being featured along with some of Atlanta's premier wedding vendors.  Paper Dolls is such a great resource for stylish, affordable wedding stationery and I speak from personal experience.  Angela and Gia did the most fab invites for my wedding 2 years ago and they have done amazing work for my brides over the years.

I am so honored....

I just wanted to take a moment to share a wonderful bit of news that we received yesterday.  Sugar Sweet Events was chosen as one of the top 5 wedding planners in Atlanta by The Knot magazine, in their 2007 Best of Weddings magazine on newstands today.  This is quite an honor for us, as we were nominated by our wonderful brides to receive this incredible acknowledgement.  The results were kept top secret, and no one on the list was told until the magazine was on stands. We thank each and every one of you that voted for us and promise that things will only get bigger and better in 2007!   Words can't express how excited I was to receive the news!

Again, thank you so much for the honor.  We are great because our brides are great and I owe this fantastic moment to each of you.

Welcome to the official blog of Sugar Sweet Events, an Atlanta based event planning firm specializing in weddings.  We have been keeping an online journal over at BlogSpot, but I have recently discovered Typepad (thank you Abby Jean of Style Me Pretty)and love it!  I try to post weekly about upcoming weddings, fun happenings around our office, everything going on with Sugar Sweet, and offer advice and support for my brides.

We are in the middle of one incredible spring wedding season, so I look forward to posting great pictures and details!
