Sweet Find: Mia Von Minks Garters

I was talking to a bride recently who is in the process of shopping for the details of her weding attire and the subject of garters came up.  She wanted something memorable and unique, so I started looking for just that and found Mia Von Mink's shop on Etsy.com.  Her designs are just glamorous and a throwback to the days of pin-up girls.

Some of them are dainty while others are cheeky and fun.  I love the little Chinese take-out box on the second one.

She also has a selection of "Wish Pearl" garters.  As described in her storefront:

These garters have little silver "cages" attached to them to hold the pearl.  A great little detail!

   

Her shop is full of gorgeous garters!  If you are looking for a sailor garter, one full of candy bar charms, or one made of Hello Kitty ribbon, Mia has you covered.  Need something you can't find in her shop?  She does custom work as well.  The sky's the limit!

Let them eat cake (and cookies....)

I have a weakness for sweets and I have always said that picking out the dress and the cake are my two favorite parts of planning a wedding.  There are some incredible designs out there, and I want to share some of them that really inspire me.

April Reed of April Reed Cakes is one of the most innovative cake designers that I have seen during my time in the wedding industry.  Her proportions and color choices are very avante garde, and really make for one rememberable cake.

 

Don't you love it?  I adore the blue cake in the top left hand corner, but they are all truly inspirational.

For something a little closer to home, Mark Lotti of Classic Cheesecakes is making what I consider to be the best wedding and groom's cakes in Atlanta, hands down.  His designs are gorgeous, and they taste just as amazing as they look.
